I made a thread like this on the old board, and I liked it, so I decided to make a new one on this board. Basically, all you have to do is talk about music. Is there a band/singer/orchestra/old Jewish folk song that you really like? Or is there something that just makes you want to rip your ears off in disgust? Talk about it! Give reasons. Make a discussion out of it. And have fun. I look like an idiot commanding you to have fun. I think I'll stop the introduction here.

Well, it finally happened. I listened to a whole Coldplay album. And if, by some insane twist of fate, you built a time machine and went two years in the past just to tell my past-self that I would enjoy a Coldplay album in the future, past-Me probably would've roundhouse kicked himself (technically myself) in the face out of pure future-self-disappointment. And then past-Me would've stolen your time machine and go two years in the future (the present) and punch my current-Self in the face. And then we'd go out and bang hot chicks together under the guise of us being identical twin brothers.
But seriously though, I really enjoyed Viva La Vida. I was not expecting it at all. I was at work one day and the radio was on, and I heard the title track and said, "Oh god, I like this song. I can't believe it", and then I listened to the rest of the album, and I enjoyed it. It was so weird. I feel dirty just thinking about it. But enough about Coldplay.

I hate Winnipeg.
That's not true, I've only been to Winnipeg once, and I was ten years old. But, I don't hate the Weakerthans. I've only started listening to them recently, due to a buddy of mine who says they're his favorite band... They're good, but they make me depressed, because they remind me of why I hate living in the midwest. Yes, I realize they're Canadian, but Manitoba is in the Canadian midwest, isn't it? It's just a little farther north than where I live, so... I don't know. I think it's pretty apparent that I know nothing about Canada. But anyway, the point is, almost all of their songs (or at least the ones I've listened to) describe to a "T" the way I've always felt about living in the middle of nowhere where it's always cold and there's nothing to do.

I found out pretty recently that "Flux" by Bloc Party is my new favorite song. I don't know what to say about it, except that I've been listening to it almost nonstop for the past two weeks. And before I go farther, I have to say that I love the drummer in a completely heterosexual way. As a drummer myself, I have to say I admire the guy's skill.

Speaking of Bloc Party, I recently acquired their new album, "Intimacy". If I were to rate Bloc Party's three albums, this would probably be rated number two ("A Weekend In The City" taking the number one spot, and "Silent Alarm" taking third). If you allow me to go on a tangent, I really don't understand why people like Silent Alarm more than Weekend In The City. I mean, Silent Alarm is okay, and it has some good songs, but Weekend In The City is just.... so much better. I'm convinced that the only reason more people like Silent Alarm more is because it came first.
But anyway, back to Intimacy. I'm going to spare you of the line that most reviewers use when talking about this album (that being "OMG IT'S MORE EXPERIMENTAL THAN THEIR OTHER WORK"), and just say that it suffers from the same problem the other two albums did, that is, awesome songs at the beginning and end, and then a middle section of less-memorable work.

I feel like such a wuss for liking Death Cab For Cutie, but I can't help it.
That's all I have for now.
