General Rotors / Hello friends
« on: January 08, 2018, 01:15:27 AM »
I miss you, & I wish the Slack hadn't died so we could still interact. I've been working on Self-Improvement & I think I've managed to become a more pleasant & less awful person as a result, finally, after all these years of being The Worst. I hope you're all doing well & got all the Santa prizes you desired. I hope your 2018 is better than your 2017.

General Rotors / I'm getting an MRI of my brain today
« on: June 28, 2017, 12:33:27 PM »
So last month I had a disturbing incident. Woke up on the carpeted floor outside my bathroom, gasping for air, broken glasses, covered in bruises and cuts, with a bump on my nose and a cut on my face and the palms of my hands. No idea how long I was unconscious or what happened. My tongue was bitten all to hell.

Everybody on earth told me it was probably a seizure and I need to go to the ER.

So I went the next day and they told me to follow up with a neurologist, who put me on seizure restrictions (I'm not allowed to drive cars or shower when nobody is home), and ordered a couple of tests to find out if I'm epileptic, or have a tumor, or if it's just because of the meds I was on until recently.

Last week I had an EEG, which is this horrible test where they stick electrodes all over your head and torture you to see what happens. It came up abnormal, though I have no idea what the implications of those results are.

And today is fancy magnet pictures time, and I get to be shoved through a tube and forced to lie still for at least an hour. I'm not looking forward to it!!

Have any of y'all ever gotten an MRI of your brain, or had a seizure before?

General Rotors / I would honestly come by and post more...

General Rotors / Do you guys play board/card games?
« on: May 10, 2015, 12:53:07 PM »
My roommates and I do, often.

What games do you like to play?

My roommates and I, as a group of three people, tend to play the following:

-Love Letter

-Settlers of Catan

We have a few others we will play occasionally. I need more friends to invite over so we can play Citadels and some of the larger group games we have around here.

I like games that are competitive rather than cooperative.

What do you like to play? Have any recommendations?

So if you hoped to play a bird dating sim, now's the time to do it

I miss having a place to randomly poll (a specific group of) people about stuff and pretend like learning about them made us friends.

I've been wading through the old posts and re-reading things, and the ones where I wasn't being the absolute worst person on earth make me happy.

Sometimes I consider trying to start threads like that again, but then I think nobody would respond to them, so I don't.

General Rotors / Single Ladies

What did my fellow Kraft Singles do for Valentine's day?

I hung out in my bedroom with Blues, eating stuff, watching Power Rangers and the Mr. Peabody & Sherman movie.

Oh I also had a good three hour nap in the afternoon.

It was one of the best Valentine's Days ever

I think if I'm ever not single I'll dump the person just to do another single Valentine's Day.

Cool to see you're still existing.  How you been?

It's really quick and easy and involves no pop culture references or question-answering.

I warn you, though, that this has to be the least flattering personality test I ever heard of.  It doesn't insult you, exactly, but it seems to focus on less-than-ideal traits.  It's also seems to have trouble with English.

My results:
Your Existing Situation

"Needs extra attention and must feel she is very important to those around her. If she doesn't think she is being spoiled enough, she may shut herself off from others."

Your Stress Sources

"Demands to be noticed by others as an important individual, needs attention and recognition. her current situation is leaving her dissatisfied. she feels she needs to make friends with those who hold the same high standards she does. Wants to stand out as someone at the top of her class and be admired by others. she needs to feel in control which makes it difficult to give of herself to another person. she feels isolated and alone but refuses to appear weak and continues to be emotionally distant from others in order to keep her attitude of superiority. "

Your Restrained Characteristics

Open and emotionally involved in relationships and easily finds satisfaction through sexual activity.

"Feels she is not receiving her fair share and is unable to rely on anyone for support or sympathy. she keeps her emotions bottled up, leaving her quick to take offense to small things. she tries to make the best of her situation."

Is feeling emotionally drained from stressful and tense situations. she is in need of peace and quiet in order to overcome her lack of energy and may become irritable if she does not recover.

"Willing to become emotionally involved, but is demanding and picky when choosing a partner. Is careful not to bring out conflict or disagreements as this may decrease her chances of achieving her goals and ideas."

"Feels she is not receiving her fair share and is unable to rely on anyone for support or sympathy. she keeps her emotions bottled up, leaving her quick to take offense to small things. she tries to make the best of her situation."

Your Desired Objective

"He feels life in general is handing her to many difficult and unpleasant things, but no one else seems to agree with her. she is resistant to joining in with others and want to be left alone."

Your Actual Problem

"Fear of being prevented from achieving the things she wants causes her to take advantage of all types of other experiences, but then denies any of them have value to her. her destructive behavior is her way of escaping and hiding the helplessness she feels."

Your Actual Problem #2

"Struggles with her need for respect and admiration from others; feels she needs to make a name for herself and stand out from the crowd. she acts out by insisting she be the center of attention, and refuses to step back, stand down, or take on a minor, insignificant role."
I had a college aged kid make fun of me for being up at 2am and posting on the Internet, like grown ass adults can't be up at 2am and on the Internet and that's reserved for college kids who are doing homework

I'm not gonna get too upset though, cuz they'll get theirs when they discover how shitty life is when you're out of school and have to have a job and can't find one because they're all taken by older people

I mean, sure, I'm unemployed and fairly useless, but I don't think I have to feel bad about it. At least I'm not doing homework at 2am! I'm watching Forensic Files and contemplating eating potato chips. People wish they could do that. I'm livin the damn dream!

Thanks, chronic illness, for helping me to realize my potential as a time-waster and stuff-watcher. At least I'm not a confused young person under the impression that life has meaning and purpose.

General Rotors / I came across a topic about my 32x30 cargo pants
« on: January 24, 2015, 02:34:00 PM »
In 2009

Everybody questioned the validity of my claims that size fit, then made fun of me for having a big fat butt

And now I'm wearing a pair of 36x32 pants I borrowed off a male friend a while ago

And they JUST fit, butt wise

General Rotors / What do you think is your best quality?

I don't have any. Maybe I can borrow one of yours?

General Rotors / Do you sleep at night?
« on: January 22, 2015, 07:15:56 AM »
I don't, lately. I'm convinced bad things happen to people who sleep when it's dark out.
