The Doctor popping around in time talking to past selves and doing things so they had what they needed when they needed it, such as the sonic screwdriver diving around in time. Much like the car keys in B&T.

Welp with that information I go back to my Sonic sticks out like a sore thumb (in a bad way) comment.

Looking at the gameplay... I do hope this is a very very early alpha, the physics look very wonky, Sonic himself seems to get lodged in the objects on the stage, and the less spoken about lets just stop in the middle of a ramp and dangle sideways the better... not even the chap taking the video could stifle his laughter.

Taking a look at thoes "leaked" screenshots I have noticed something...

Left we have the second screenshot its its much higher quality, Right we have the 4th screenshot which was at a lower resolution and looks a bit darker...

Notice the spines length, the rounder belly and the black eyes...

Calling foul or are some of you getting what you wanted?

Also is it just me or does that Sonic model with its 3 colour cell shading look utterly horrible next to the high quality overly detailed and shaded backgrounds? The second one looks a bit better due to the extra blur on the whole image, but the first sticks out like a sore thumb with the jaggies going on.

Oh hi there speed booster.

Oh is that a photo of the new Alton Towers hotel Sonic room? Their advertising for that new spinball ride?

The Pokemon series says hi.

Any game not on a handheld wants a hi-five (stadium, that rpgish one I forget the name of etc)

Also, lovely Sonic CD Sonic is lovely, the amount of detail they went into for that animation is what this new game should be about. Sonic CD classed as the best Sonic game for a reason, just clean up the pencil scribbles they never even used in that game from almost two decades ago and your beating this one :3

Albeit not as 'official' or grand,

Hell, that did it right, a portable remake of Sonic 2 that for the most part kept everything as it should have been, and even went a bit mad and added in the ending level from Sonic 3. It was however missing Super Sonic in any level due to that and Tails was only playable with a cheat code that for some reason only worked on emulators... but it was still a good port.

And yes I know, its new design sonic, but at that resolution the only bit wrong in the player sprite is one tiny green pixel ;p

Yup it's Sonic rush with pretend "ooo look momentum!" thrown at you to hide the fact it's rush at a higher resolution.
Where's the boost meter?

The official website says it takes place after Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

I was meaning moreso the look of the game, and mentioning the momentum thing as the replacement for the boost gauge, which looks so far to be the only real difference~

Also, noting the website they put up, under characters it's got Sonic and a ?, so chances are if they were being serious before you might get a playable Super Sonic, or if they want to make the shouty fans complaining about it being new Sonic in the old Sonic timeline, a skin change for Sonic to look all black eyed and short.

...probably a new character just to screw with you  ::)

Sigh, homing dash, motion control on thePS3 and Wii, Robotnik is still Eggman, wonky 3D Sonic and running animation...

Yup it's Sonic rush with pretend "ooo look momentum!" thrown at you to hide the fact it's rush at a higher resolution.

They used the Sonic 2 Beta running animation in the trailer for some reason, and I think skipped, or misplaced a frame on Sonic 3's running animation, more effort needed try again.

Also the logo is rubbish  8)

Reasonable.  But on the other hand, would a hypothetical playable Needlemouse Shadow (for example) really draw any less ire if he was an exact gameplay copy of Sonic than if he preserved his recent gameplay?  (Or, for that matter, if he was only an NPC, but I stupidly locked myself out of that point by saying "playable.")

Oh no I wouldn't mind that so much, seeing as how were bringing up 06 quite a lot, he was almost identical to Sonic there, and for the most part played better... so if they do that then sure...

The main problem everyone has with Sonic games no matter what it is, everything comes down to one fact, Sega rushing the release for some reason or another, be it an anniversary, or some other arbitrary get it out by a holiday for more money reason. 99% of recent Sonic games just needed a bunch more time in the dev pot, and a few of them could actually have been good, maybe very good titles if they had just sat down and fixed the problems plaguing them.

On that note, anyone here played the PS3 version of Unleashed? Is it just me or is every town like playing slideshow Sonic with the utterly horrible framerate? It's slightly better in levels, but still a tad choppy. It's annoying.

I'm happy to see that there is a Sonic game that will never, ever go though "ZOMG IT'S SONIC AND HIS SHITTY FRIENDS AGAIN, I HAVE LOST ALL INTEREST NOW" as if the difference between a good game and a bad game consisted solely of the absence or presence of additional playable characters.

My personal reason for not wanting a bunch of new playable characters with different playstyles, is just generally because I want them to work on ONE playstyle and make it work, and not spread themselves thin and make 5 that are all half working and wonky. Of course we all know now Sega will just make one half working wonky playstyle then go and get lunch and never come back... but they have less of an excuse.

they made a limited run little statue for the 15th... and because I'm me, and I'm predictable I have that and the 10th anniversary booklet/cd/coin case thingy.

But nice drawing, better than I was expecting, but doesn't help give me a good glimpse of how the actual game will look... concept art is of course, just the concept, which is normally the best part before it gets royally stuffed in favour of the mighty money symbol.

But yeah right, clearly the got the idea when I put Crabmeat in The Black Knight and everyone liked it, right? (of course not)

..what? I thought SEGA had declared this needlemouse thing fake...?

No no, what they called fake was that thing where some chaps put up some green hill zone like 3d images, supposedly pretending to be Sega teasing everyone. The game itself has always been real.

General Rotors / Re: Stargate SG-1
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:21:45 AM »
I refuse to watch any show with such a redundant title.

Well they had to differentiate it from the movie, so having the name of the team on the end is a simple way to do it. In the series they are never referred to as StarGate 1, or StarGate team 1, it literally is just SG-1, sure its likely referencing their large round ring, but it isn't redundant.

Especially when they add in Atlantis and Universe. SG1 is about the team named SG1, that messes around on the first StarGate on earth, Atlantis is about the team named Atlantis, who are on Atlantis, and Universe... is about some chaps lost on the other side of the universe so that isnt a team name but you get the idea.

General Rotors / Re: So... Sonic and the black knight

Pretty much this. Except you can use a homing attack + waggle combo to defeat your enemies, which doesn't make you stop running. This doesn't make the game much better though.

It does make it quite a bit more bearable than stopping every 15 seconds, if you get your timing right (that's more or less what the game is a massive long timing event) you can spend the entire levels at full tilt dispatching enemies through the homing attack/spinny sword in the air combo, more or less turning the sword into a pointless addition because none of the other attacks in the game are anywhere near as useful as generic air dash attack. Per example if you watch any of the games "here's how to do the level properly" videos, that's all they do, homing dash quickly along the stage murdering everyone without slowing down at all.

Actually I was just thinking I bet a lot of toys based on shows were really crappy but we loved them anyway because children are silly......

Strangely enough the original Dragon Dagger is actually surprisingly accurate to its shows counterpart, past the whole being a sharp and deadly tool, much more than the new one by far.

...but yes I agree most were utter garbage ;p

Oh, yeah, sorry for the confusion there.  Should have included dates.

I will try to still be on then so your input will be heard, Faker.

I am sorry to say... I overslept, straight through my alarm somehow, it was buzzing for a good hour before I actually woke up, bit odd.

Um... you must have your times mixed up, Cinos.

When I said that, I meant how he's lucky I don't work tomorrow, as I can afford to stay up to midnight tonight.

Oh yes, I see it now, it was posted at 2AM for me, so tomorrow would have been Wednesday, but it would have been the day before for you broken timezone chaps.

... You're just lucky I don't work Wednesday.

I'm in.

Wouldn't you be more worried about being awake enough on Thursday if your going to be having a meeting at midnight on Wednesday?
Either way, 5AM is a bit late, I'm be up at 7:30ish probably, I'll pop in and see what your doing if your still at it ;p

Knowing nothing about how one actually plays these types of thing, I am clueless, however quite interested in learning. Problem with me, being I'm stuck in old uk land and its timezone. I am however available... all the time really, every day all during the day and at least until 2AM GMT, after that is possible, but likely will be getting attacked by the people sleeping in the next room...

Theres a lot of things I wish they would consider while making this game, like get the guy who sings on the Daytona music should record a song just for this game.

Blue blue skies..... blue blue skies I see...

Someone's alternate care needs to be the hornet, as I cant imagine them having one of the Brown family be playable ;p

fff, I was all ready to throw this off to the side, but my horrible love of the OutRun series has stopped me. Seeing S0l confirm that SUMO is working on it is good, their work on the OutRun2 ports were good. They did the ports, not the original arcade game, so that knocks my hopes down a bit, would rather have AM2 back in the drivers seat as it were, but its the next best from sega recently it seems.

If this is even half as good as OutRun2 it'll be in my collection, but if it turns out to be a horrible watered down version stripping away the original fun for cheap mini games no one plays, a sad person will I be.

aaaand this is coming from someone that owns the original Japanese Sonic Drift...

(Honestly I just want more OutRun anything will do, just make sure the Testarosa-a-like is in it or else.)

Oh hello my current PC/PS3/PS2 controller of choice how are you doing. Works on DC and GC as well, but those connections are expensive!

(ps, oh dear my monies)

Dear me, why is it we get reminded of things we've forgotten right before they blip out of existance, I know that's the only time their newsworthy, but still...

On this one specifically I used to listen to it all the time as well... then it was knocked out my mind by time I guess...

Still doesn't matter because when you skip the credits it still tells you what you unlocked~
