Welp, looks like I'm missing out on NeckbeardCon then. Truly a great loss.

And yeah WizMoogle man, I used to think 5 years of age difference was a big deal but at this point in all our lives it's nothing.

Nice, man!

I mainly just jam out on my own. I tried to get involved with startup bands twice but they didn't work out. The first time the front-lady thought she'd be able to quit her job and make it her main income and stuff in spite of us being a bunch of random beginners. I was the bassist, the guitarist WENT OFF on the lead singer then quit. We had been practicing at his place so we no longer had a practice space. I waited a day then said something diplomatic like "You have some very ambitious dreams, but I don't think I'm the right fit for this band. Good luck!"

Second time, there's this local vocalist Kristi that's been in several cover bands. She's pretty cool, we're friends but I think she's at the tail end of her generation and I'm at the start-end of mine so I always saw her as "older but not old" if that makes sense. This guy who's showed up to several local shows with her says he's interested in starting a band and I'm like "sure, let's do this." I was a little hesitant, but this girl Tayllor I've been spending a lot of time with vouches for him; she says that his parents used to own a local restaurant so he's probably cool. I hear the same thing from a childhood friend so I'm like "screw it, let's give this band a try." Turns out the dude is just super-lonely and is looking for a friend more than he is looking to start a band. I brought it up to my girl Tayllor and she's like "...you know, I hadn't put two and two together before but that makes a lot of sense knowing the guy." Technically I think he still thinks we're going to start a band, but COVID-19's limited social interactions or whatever. I know that band's not happening.

Ah, but what is it? There's the rub

What if you literally CAN'T grow a beard?

Then you're from Quebec.

Hell yea!! That’s awesome man.

I’ve been playing drums for I guess a decade and a half now, started taking guitar seriously about a decade ago, and been thumpin a bass more seriously for about half a decade I guess. I went to college for music, it’s something I’m pretty passionate about... Probably too much so, detrimentally so it seems as the years go by 😅 Not a lot of demand for that kind of thing where I live and I don’t have the will to move so... 🤷‍♂️

Working on a new solo album and another with my band, might do something snazzy with it who knows

Do you play in a band or just jam out on your own?
