Defective ol' Wii

Been getting read errors left and right, so we're gonna have to ship our Wii and game off to Nintendo.

I miss it already :<

I will now be keeping a journal.

Day 1 without Brawl: Dropped the Wii off at FedEx today, encased in bubble wrap. Man at the store was nice; gave me a box and some packing paper. The shipping label scanned okay, even though my printer sucks. I think I'll be fine; one of my best friends who lives a mere 5 minutes away owns a Wii and Smash Bros., and I still have my SD card, so if she indulges me I should still be able to make stages and take snapshots. It's still going to be painful, though. The man at FedEx said that it should arrive at Nintendo on Monday, which pretty much puts it at next Thursday for the estimated time I get it back. Well, here goes nothing.

Day 2: Last night I went to my friend's house to play Brawl. I think I overstayed my welcome, though, and I hope I didn't irritate her too much. Today I went to work, and came home to find that my Wii is still on its way to Nintendo, in transit to California. At least it's going along. I do hope it gets back here within a reasonable time frame. In any case, it's Spring Break now, so I'll be able to spend more time with friends. I should get out some graph paper and make a couple new stages to transcribe later.

My life is too boring to keep a journal of my wait for the Wii to be shipped back.  It would just be posts about reading forums and chatting on IRC.  :(

Day 3: Since Art and Chris were bugging me about playing Brawl, I had my friend come over this time and bring her Wii. We did have a jolly good time, but we didn't play Brawl THAT much. It does start to get a little bit stale when you have more than 2 people and can't play any of the co-op modes. As stale as Smash Bros. gets, anyhow, which is a lot like that scary bread Chris bought that doesn't get stale at all.

I'm still thinking about making a sandwich with it. Just to see if I get sick or not.

My Wii is okay, but my SSBB copy seems to have some odd problems with very specific circumstances... which apparently Co-op event 4 match entirely. There it starts to slow down and then crop parts of the screen - and then return to normal and speed up when Diddy Kong is KO'd. VERY weird.

Day 4: Worked most of the day. Later went to another friend's house to play the game. Made a stage. Good times.

My Wii is due back this morning, according to UPS tracking.

I'm excited as all get out.

Honestly I think it's the disk at this point, it's still got that massive scratch around the outer edge. And it doesn't sound right running in there.

"Game Disc Error"? If so, this is a common problem with most early models having troubles reading it, since it is a double layered DVD, contrary to other games..

I know I've been getting "Game Disc Error" a lot. Although it's gotten better by now, but I still get them. Heck, got one of 'em while brawling against Sonick and Donnyku tonight.

Yeah, but we sent it to Texas to fix that problem. All they did was wipe our memory and send it back.

I've been saying it's the disc all this time.
