SerTek: iTunes is f*ed, can't find itunes.msi
« on: December 02, 2008, 12:14:21 AM »
Alright, so I noticed the cool new visualizer wasn't running for some reason, so I figured updating iTunes woluld fix the problem. Wrong. Instead when I reboot, I can no longer run iTunes. I get the lovely "this action only available for installed program" message. So I tried to reinstall, everything goes well until it tries to remove the old version, where it can't find "itunes.msi" Hell I can't even uninstall it from the control panel. Can someone tell me whats going on here?

Try the "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" instructions on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US

That did the trick, thanks Spazz. Suit, thank you for the helpful suggestion, although given my current uses from a PC, that will have to wait.
