Matt lives out in the suburbs of Melbourne, with houses and parks and busy-ish roads and similar. Melbourne proper has, y'know, buildings and old buildings and trees and busy roads and a giant, pointy spire covered in fibre optic lights and big flamethrowing columns and other such mundane items.

Pretty small, but nice city. Lots of trees and grass and small houses and such. There's a lot of businesses here too. But no mall, White Castle, Long John Silvers or Best Buy. Boo.

I can't remember the last place I saw a White Castle or a Long John Silver's on the East Coast.  Malls (or the more modern "town center" shopping districts) and Best Buys are easy enough to find in the D.C. Metro Area and Jersey, but those two are few and far in between.

And Mirai,

Still really want to see Washington for myself before I kick the bucket.

If you're a history, culture, or government buff, it's quite an interesting place to see.  Give me a head's-up if you ever find yourself in the area one day.  Under the assumption that I will probably settle in the area for the long term, I will usually be glad to offer a friend a tour of the city.

There used to be Long John Silvers where I lived in Maryland but they all shut down years ago.

There's a LJS near the mall where Joshi works. We've gone there twice because, honestly, the food there is all the same and awful. There's a Best Buy near it. Myst would probably like living in Harrisburg.

I live just off Darling Harbour now. It's a touristy place, last rennovated in the 90s and starting to show its age, but is still kinda pretty at night and isn't a bad place to be, in my opinion. We're a 12 minute walk from the city centre.

This is part of it. Hard to find good shots that show off the whole thing, but it's a bit like that.

This is roughly the view of the city from where I am, though I don't have this view as I'm on the ground floor.

See the patch of green in the top left of the image? The building I'm in is the big rectangular yellow and brick one that appears just below that little park.

Visit Soaringrabbit.com, home of Soaring Rabbit, a Keio Flying Squadron fansite, Rampaging Feline, which is all about Di Gi Charat, Bombastic Bunny, my blog about technology and stuff, or maybe even Bittersweet Candy Bowl, Veronica's wonderful comic.

I like it here in the East Bay, the weather is great and the culture is wonderful. Only problem is, most everybody (which includes me) are quite reserved...

If you looked at Dubuque, you've already essentially looked at where I live since everywhere in Iowa is the same.

I will join in this thrilling discussion.

Fairfield Ohio. Like 25 minutes north of Cincinnati or so. It's ... eh. It's alright. The area is nice, and we have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle_Jim%27s which it the most amazing fucking grocery store ever. But other than that, it's just ... Ohio. Nothing fantastic. I live near six malls. Two of them are ridiculously close. One of one an exit west on the highway, the other is an exit east.

From my year of living with Sammy in North Irwin, PA, I can say it really wasn't all that much different than Ohio. Same type of boring people, lots of hills (Curse you "Mad Frog Road" ...) and lots of turns. Only thing that ever comes to mind with Harrisburgh is a gaveyard and Joshi's mom making breakfast. (Maybe I should go out there again? Atleast for the breakfast!)

But yeah. My goal is to move to Florida in the next couple of years. MAYBE CA, but probably Florida. I gotta be near the ocean to feel like I'm somewhat "where I should be."  Plus, I'm pretty much done with Winter. It's a great experience for the first day you get slammed with 8 inches of snow, or an ice storm, until you realize you still have to do all your normal shit cause you're not a kid anymore.

I live in Yonkers, NY, which is mostly a shithole, but luckily I live in the nice, little Irish ghetto part of it. Borders the Bronx, and is a quick train ride from GCT.

As of recent, I've been spending most of my time, and practically living, with my friend in Chappaqua, which is a rather high-class, overly snooty place. Bill Clinton lives here though, which is pretty coo'.

I just happen to live in white suburbia. In Minnesota. Nothing of real interest unless you drive the 30 minutes into Minneapolis.
