i still don't see why people diss l4d2 so much, i mean....yeah tf2 has given us alot of content, but if you exclude community content we've only gotten about 4 new maps (badlands, gold rush, badwater basin, pipeline), 4 arena maps (lumberyard, ravine, sawmill, nucleus), 18 new weapons (plus hats), and various tweaks here and there (achievements, inventory, ect).
meanwhile the l4d2 content totals in at about 25 new maps, 20 new weapons (the official word), new characters (with what sounds like a more developed full game story), new enemies (they added hdr lighting into hl2 after lost coast hit, and light bloom after ep1), new behaviors for old enemies (wandering witch, uncommon commons, ect), and advancements of the director....adds up to way more content than all the combined tf2 updates. (We are getting at least one new full 5 map campaign for l4d1 in the comming months, btw) If valve had waited until they finished the remaining character packs and meet the team videos to release the tf2 updates as "TF3" people would be bitching, regardless of whether it was pay to play or not (I think that's what's happening with the 360 tf2)
People complained about the hl2 episode packs being sold seperately, people complained about the orange box being a full price "game" made up of small "games", people complain about every single update valve ever does to tf2, but valve always...ALWAYS comes through for us. I'm going to do what I've always done and just trust them on this. They won't let me down.
