I've heard there are a ton of problems with the Wii U version.

I'm waiting until there's a decent amount of games on it that spark my interest. I got the 3DS because there were at least four I was interested in getting and I got those within the span of a month. When I got my Wii, I had Twilight Princess and WarioWare only for about a year and it just collected dust otherwise. Not going to make that mistake again.

Disregard me from two months ago, I got a Wii U yesterday. "AnKylo" is the username if anyone cares. So far, it's been okay.

Doing my once every 500 years post here to say I got a Wii U. My NNID is KiddoCabbusses. I post on Miiverse now and then. Yeah my posts.

I got a Wii U at launch, and played it pretty much every day for the first month or two. Needs more games, but the same thing happened to the 3DS at first.

So in the 4 months since I got the WiiU, what happened?

Well, after I played enough Nintendoland, I sorta stopped playing it, more or less completely.

Then my Mum was asking about Netflix, so I set it up in the family room TV. The WiiU works awesomely as a Netflix device. High resolution on both screens, controlling the interface by touching the screen, quick movement with the analogues and you can go "YouTube" by moving the time slider to different points. I then overindulged in Netflix, having never been exposed to the service before, largely watching British TV series such as Jonathan Creek and starting Dr. Who.

Other than that, one night I had some cousins over who are fans of video games and we all played Nintendoland together. It has some good multiplayer games where one person has the Screen and the others have wiimotes. It was a good night.

You know, I've never really been a fan of Mario? Puts me at odds with most of the gaming community I know, but I always tended to lose interest pretty quickly in most Mario game.

Curious what ones you've played in your lifetime ... they're all a bit different, and some of them need time-period context.

And yeah, the unique interface of TV plus touch screen is wacky and wonderful. I was very impressed with it when I first tried it out.

To be honest, the only 2D Mario I ever really got into was World.

The Galaxy games are basically the best games ever, though.

I'm the exact same way with Zelda for the most part. I recognize how brilliant these games are, but they quite largely bore me.

Oh. Guess I'll add everybody here that has gotten one recently once I'm on it again.

Been playing the hell out of Monster Hunter recently. And also, yeah, it's a pretty good Netflix device, which is kind of a sad perk, but at least you can't watch things on the controller if the TV is in use for something else or whatever. Never thought Nintendo and Breaking Bad would go together so well.

I have no idea what the username is on mine (my brother's system), but I mainly use it for Netflix since the only game I have is Nintendo Land. When I get more cash I'm planning to get Sonic and Sega All-Stars Transformed, a new copy of Sonic Colors after my sister destroyed mine, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and I can't think of anything else out for it atm that I want outside of Super Mario Bros. Wii-U.

Alright, so after the Smash4 announcement I've decided that I need to pick one of these up. I'll probably grab New Super Mario Bros U and the disc-version of New Super Luigi U to play with friends and I'm definitely picking up Smash4 when it comes out. Sonic: Lost Worlds also doesn't look half-bad from what I've seen. What other games do you all recommend I get when I buy one at some point within the next few months?

I hope once The Wonderful 101 comes out, we're going to start seeing a bigger library come out. I've been sitting on Nintendoland, Mario and Monster Hunter since freaking March.

Hm... yeah, the more I think about it the more I can see that you're right. I'm just used the downloadable titles being tied to DRM services and I didn't want to support that on consoles. Maybe I've just spent too much time around Gerbilsoft and Overlord and their super-anti-downloadable title ways are rubbing off on me? =P In any case, given the way that downloadable titles were treated on the Wii I'm sure I won't need to have my Wii U online just to play the game and they likely won't revoke my access to it at any time so hey - cheaper is better!

Played Game And Wario... Why wasn't the entire game just 9-Volt's stage? I get they were trying to do something new, but turning it into a Mini-Game Collection with atleast TWO GAMES that are reskinned from Nintendo Land.

Young Cricket's Game also sucks btw.

Also it's called Game and Wario, but... no Mr. Game And Watch? Fuck the what?
