Anyone have any thoughts on them? I think they're pretty exciting, you can send Bitcoins to people entirely through the internet. Everything's digital, it's pretty cool!

Bitcoins are a neat concept I guess but I mean I can send real money over the Internet too so I'm not sure how that part is exciting at all.

I wish they'd go back down to $3 again.  I remember avidly checking their prices the last two years every now and then and the bubble caught me off guard a little.  Well, it caught everyone off guard that was spectating.  Some people got rich as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Look up pictures of bitcoin farms.  You could also, alternatively invest in hundred to thousand dollar processors that will pay for themselves in a month or so.

Yeah, bitcoin mining as an amateur fun venture is gone, you'd need to build yourself a mini-supercomputer now.

Bitcoin itself is pretty neat, but I still think the next iteration of the idea will probably be the big breakthrough. It's still too weird to exchange real currency for the digital stuff. (also, the currency needs inflation to continue forever to keep pace with growth, and bitcoin doesn't do that... but that's getting into economics)

Bitcoins remind me of Monetary Units from the FreeRIDE series.... but only in how it's digital currency.
I don't see how people say "Bitcoins are the future" or are this big "Internet Singularity" thing. I mean... our old money is pretty much digital at this point. To the extent where when I see a store or machine that doesn't take cards it's inconvenient as balls.
